Christian Mansell's Promising 2024 FIA Formula 3 Campaign with ART Grand Prix
Christian Mansell gears up for an exciting 2024 FIA Formula 3 season with ART Grand Prix, aiming to leverage his remarkable rookie year experience and drive towards greater success.
In a significant move for his racing career, Christian Mansell is set to embark on his second FIA Formula 3 season in 2024, this time joining forces with the renowned ART Grand Prix team. After an impressive rookie year with Campos Racing, the 18-year-old Australian driver is poised to make a more substantial impact in the upcoming season.
Mansell's first season in FIA Formula 3 was marked by remarkable achievements, including two podium finishes at the Silverstone Sprint Race and Spa-Francorchamps Feature Race. These feats not only showcased his potential but also earned him the prestigious Dallara Award for Best Comeback of the Year. Finishing 12th in the Standings, Mansell demonstrated his ability to compete at a high level in this challenging series.
His post-season was equally productive, completing all three post-season tests with ART Grand Prix and making a notable appearance at the Macau Grand Prix. This experience has given Mansell valuable time to adapt to his new team environment and build a strong foundation for the 2024 FIA Formula 3 season.
“I’m super happy to sign with ART Grand Prix for the 2024 FIA Formula 3 season," said Mansell, expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming season. "I’m looking forward to working with the team to achieve better results in the Teams’ Championship and for myself as a driver next year."
Mansell's racing journey is a tale of constant growth and adaptation. Starting with karting in Australia, he made a seamless transition to single-seaters, participating in the New South Wales Formula Race Car Championship and the Australian Formula 4 Championship in 2019. His move to the United Kingdom in 2020 saw him make an immediate impact in the British F4 Championship, where he secured one win and five podiums, finishing seventh in the Standings and winning the Rookies’ Cup Champion title.
In 2021, Mansell continued his upward trajectory in the GB3 Championship, achieving two wins and five podiums, which helped him clinch third place in the Standings. His subsequent participation in the Euroformula Open and a two-round appearance for Charouz Racing System in Budapest and Spa in F3 further honed his skills and prepared him for the challenges ahead with ART Grand Prix.
ART Team Principal Sébastien Philippe expressed confidence in Mansell's capabilities. "Christian has shown he has a good ability to learn and progress," Philippe remarked. "In 2024, he will have everything he needs to blossom and achieve both his goals as well as those of the team.”
As Christian Mansell prepares for the 2024 FIA Formula 3 season with ART Grand Prix, the motorsports world watches with keen interest. His blend of talent, experience, and the support of a prestigious team like ART Grand Prix sets the stage for what could be a breakthrough year for this promising young driver.
