Louis Sharp Dominates GB3 Championship Opener at Oulton Park
Louis Sharp excels at GB3 Oulton Park, leading the championship and winning £500 from the Jack Cavill Cup. Secured pole positions, a victory, second, and fifth place finishes.
Louis Sharp's debut weekend at Oulton Park in the GB3 Championship marked a memorable start to his season. The New Zealander's exceptional performance not only propelled him to the top of the championship standings but also enriched him by £500 courtesy of the Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup. Sharp's qualifying rounds on Saturday were nothing short of remarkable, clinching pole positions with impressive margins, including a 0.287s lead in race one - the largest at Oulton Park for GB3 since 2016. This achievement also signaled Sharp's significant lead in the annual Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup, a competition generously supported by John Cavill in memory of his father, Jack. The prize pool rewards the driver with the most pole positions throughout the season, culminating in a £2,000 year-end prize, with equal honors extended to their team. Sharp, racing for Rodin Motorsport, now follows in the footsteps of previous Cup luminaries such as Jake Hughes, George Russell, and Callum Voisin, setting a promising trajectory for the season ahead.
